I have spoken on the subject, and taught on the subject of purpose for as long as I can remember.  I first starting speaking publicly at 18 years of age, and I noticed speaking to people about their purpose in life is my passion.

About the book

What is the book about?

Pozercise is a book of positive affirmations to be used by individuals in reversing their negative thought pattern into a positive way of thinking.  The book can also be used for journaling.  Each page has an affirmation, and the reader can reflect and use the affirmations to center their thoughts and write what area of their life they are focusing on to realign.

When did you start writing the book?

I first started writing the affirmations, and inspirational quotes on my Facebook page, as I started more affirmations began to flood my thoughts to share with more people.

How long did it take you to write it?

Believe it or not it only took 2 months to write the book.  My collection of writing was massive due to my history of writing to earn online for the past 5 years.

Where did you get the idea from?

The idea came to me as I was working.  It started out as an idea for an exercise video, to encourage people to live a more active and healthy lifestyle.  The idea spun into a book, and Life Coaching practice.  For years I have loved coaching, and am passionate about helping others find their purpose and passion in life.  I have spoken on the subject, and taught on the subject of purpose for as long as I can remember.  I first starting speaking publicly at 18 years of age, and I noticed speaking to people about their purpose in life is my passion.

Were there any parts of the book where you struggled?

No, just the opposite the more I write, the more I want to write even more.

What came easily?

The title, I actually had the title of the book before the book was written.  I thought I was going to produce the exercise video, which could still happen, but it is on hold for right now.

Are your characters entirely fictitious or have you borrowed from real world people you know?

Pozercise Your World only has one character, and that’s the reader.

We all know how important it is for writers to read. Are there any particular authors that have influenced how you write and, if so, how have they influenced you?

I love the writing of Dr. Wayne Dyer his writing is inspiration and l love his books.

Do you have a target reader?

My target audience is small business owners, and individuals who really want to reinvent their life.  I am a firm believer that if a person is not satisfied with their life they can change it, by reinventing it.

About Writing

Do you have a writing process? If so can you please describe it?

Yes, I follow the same process, and/or pattern for my writing, and for the classes I take. I love to write early in the morning.  Every morning I write, at times as early as 6:00 a.m.

Do you outline? If so, do you do so extensively or just chapter headings and a couple of sentences?

Not for this particular book I did not have an outline.

Do you edit as you go or wait until you’ve finished?

Typically when I write fiction novels, I write first and edit last.  After I edit I rewrite, and edit again.

Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what gets the fingers tapping?

No, I love to work, and write in the peace and quiet.

About Publishing

Did you submit your work to Agents?

Yes, I knew it would be difficult, but I submitted anyway.   When I first started writing books many years ago I traveled the path of trying to find an agent.  I wrote query letters, called agents only to receive a rejection letter.   Some agents stated they liked the story, but it was not their genre.

What made you decide to go Indie, whether self-publishing or with an indie publisher? Was it a particular event or a gradual process?

I had experience with self-publishing some years ago, and was successful.

Did you get your book cover professionally done or did you do it yourself?

Fortunately I know someone who enjoys graphic design, and I was glad his company designed the cover.  The cover has received a positive reaction, and readers say they just love it!

Do you have a marketing plan for the book or are you just winging it?

A marketing plan is the most important part of being successful with self-publishing. I read interviews of other authors who experienced success with self-publishing, and decided I am going to do what they did, and more.

Any advice that you would like to give to other newbies considering becoming Indie authors?

Keep working on your marketing plan, your marketing plan is half the battle.  If you have a well- executed marketing plan the sales will come.

About You

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the City of Chicago.

Where do you live now?

I just relocated to Atlanta, Ga.

What would you like readers to know about you?

When I am not thinking about what to write next I love watching old John Wayne movies, or a western such as Gunsmoke.

What are you working on now?

The next volume of inspirational quotes.
