The Back Flap

In The Passion Of Shadow

She doesn’t know it yet… but she’s already mine.
Her body, her soul, her every trembling breath-
She belongs to me.”

He is the predator. She is the prey.
A dangerous obsession. A love that burns too hot to escape.
There’s no going back now.

He stole my freedom the moment his eyes found me.
He said I belonged to him body, soul, heartbeat.
And the worst part? I started to believe it.

The kind of predator who kills without hesitation…
yet touches me like I’m something holy.

I should run. I should hate him.
Instead, I burn for him, even as blood stains his hands.

The world we’ve fallen into is ruled by vengeance and sin,
and every kiss tastes like war.

He’s my captor, my saviour, my ruin.
And when the bullets start flying, the only question left is
whose obsession will destroy us first?

They call him a monster.
Maybe he is.
But he’s my monster.

Because when darkness falls,
there’s no mercy.
Only obsession.
Only him.

About the book

What is the book about?

Whispers of Sin in the Shadows of Passion is a dark psychological romance that explores obsession, power, and the blurred line between captivity and desire. It follows a dangerous predator and the woman who becomes both his possession and his weakness. Pulled into a world ruled by vengeance, violence, and sin, she finds herself torn between fear and an irresistible pull toward the man who has stolen her freedom. Every touch burns, every kiss feels like war, and love becomes as lethal as the bullets flying around them. This is a story where passion is not safe, obsession is absolute, and loving a monster may be the most dangerous choice of all.

When did you start writing the book?

I started writing Whispers of Sin in the Shadows of Passion in late 2024, and after editing and refinement, it was published on 3 May 2025.

How long did it take you to write it?

I wrote the first draft in a matter of weeks, but shaping the story, refining the emotional depth, and preparing it for publication took several months.

Where did you get the idea from?

The idea came from an interest in the darker side of human desire and the psychological tension between control and surrender. I was inspired by how obsession can blur the line between fear and attraction, and how love, when placed in extreme circumstances, can become both dangerous and consuming. I wanted to explore that emotional conflict within a suspenseful, high-stakes world.

Were there any parts of the book where you struggled?

Yes, the ending was the most challenging part. I wanted it to feel intense and emotionally satisfying without losing the dark tone of the story. Finding the right balance between resolution and tension took the most effort.

What came easily?

The emotional tension and the darker aspects of the relationship came naturally. Writing the intensity between the characters, including obsession, conflict, and desire, flowed easily.

Are your characters entirely fictitious or have you borrowed from real world people you know?

The characters are completely fictional, but their emotions and struggles are realistic, making it easy for readers to connect with their story.

We all know how important it is for writers to read. Are there any particular authors that have influenced how you write and, if so, how have they influenced you?

Yes, I have been influenced by authors such as Sylvia Day and Nora Roberts. Their ability to create intense emotional tension, complex characters, and passionate, consensual relationships has inspired me to focus on depth, desire, and suspense in my own writing. Their stories show how romance can be dark, thrilling, and deeply emotional, without crossing into harmful or non-consensual territory.

Do you have a target reader?

Yes, my target readers are adults who enjoy dark romance with intense emotional stakes, suspense, and passionate relationships. They are readers who appreciate complex characters, psychological tension, and stories that explore the fine line between desire, obsession, and love.

About Writing

Do you have a writing process? If so can you please describe it?

Yes, I do have a writing process. I usually start with a rough idea of the story and the main characters, then allow the plot to develop organically as I write. I focus first on getting the story down, letting the emotions and tension flow naturally. Once the draft is complete, I go back to refine the scenes, deepen the characters, and ensure the pacing and suspense are just right.

Do you outline? If so, do you do so extensively or just chapter headings and a couple of sentences?

I outline lightly, usually with chapter headings and a few key points for each scene. This gives me a roadmap while still allowing the story and characters to evolve naturally as I write.

Do you edit as you go or wait until you’ve finished?

I usually wait until I’ve finished the full draft before editing. This allows the story to flow naturally without interrupting the creative process. Once the draft is complete, I go back to refine the scenes, enhance the emotional impact, and ensure the pacing and tension are just right.

Did you hire a professional editor?

I handled the editing myself. As a data science student, I approached the process methodically, carefully refining the story, polishing the language, and ensuring the pacing and emotional impact were just right.

Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what gets the fingers tapping?

No, I prefer complete silence while writing. Being fully absorbed in the story allows me to focus entirely on the emotions, tension, and flow of the narrative without any distractions.

About Publishing

Did you submit your work to Agents?

No, I chose to publish independently. I wanted full creative control and the ability to connect directly with readers without going through the traditional agent process.

What made you decide to go Indie, whether self-publishing or with an indie publisher? Was it a particular event or a gradual process?

It was a gradual decision. I wanted full creative freedom to tell the story exactly as I envisioned it and to manage every aspect of the publishing process myself. Self-publishing allowed me to maintain control over the writing, editing, cover design, and marketing, ensuring that the final book truly reflects my vision.

Did you get your book cover professionally done or did you do it yourself?

I designed the book cover myself. As a data science student learning coding and digital design, I applied my skills to create a cover that reflects the dark, intense, and suspenseful tone of the story.

Do you have a marketing plan for the book or are you just winging it?

I have a clear marketing approach focused on connecting with readers through social media, online book communities, and word-of-mouth promotion. While I continue to learn and adapt my strategies, I aim to build genuine engagement rather than relying on random or unplanned promotion.

Any advice that you would like to give to other newbies considering becoming Indie authors?

Writing is not easy and it can often feel overwhelming, especially without PR teams or external support. However, perseverance is the true asset of a writer. Keep writing, keep refining your craft, and never give up. One day, your dedication will be rewarded.

“The scariest moment is always just before you start, but the reward is in finishing what you began.”

I am passionate about exploring the darker, complex sides of love, desire, and human emotion in my writing. Beyond novels, I am also a poet, with my poetry book Silent Scream reflecting my passion for giving voice to emotions that often go unspoken. What are you working on now?

I am currently working on my new book, Rage, which explores the intense internal struggles women face and the psychological challenges of navigating a harsh world. The story combines suspense, horror, and psychological thrills, delving deep into the human mind and emotions. Alongside this, I continue writing poetry and creating stories inspired by social issues and real human experiences. My goal is to craft work that is both thrilling and meaningful, leaving a lasting impact on readers.
