I have always read a lot. As a kid I read comics, I could name the planets in order from the sun at a very young age…and tell you a little about each.

The Back Flap

Fireship Nascence…Do not let her cargo deceive you!

GENESIS has gone “DARK” according to a massive plan that took years in the making. The Nascence has been deployed. The Nascence will take the fight to Genesis’s enemies. Genesis has also dispatched five Leviathan class ships and tankers to run offense. This countermeasure insures that the Nascence gets through and delivers her payload to two of America’s original colonies. The Nascence is a nuclear fireship headed for Savannah Georgia and its sister colony to the north originally called Charles Town…now called Charleston South Carolina.

The Nascence is as deadly as she is beautiful. Fireship Nascence was born in the best shipyards in the world.  Scientists are in awe at her technology and speed. Ship Designers are amazed at her functionality and beauty.  But do not let her cargo fool you.  She is a traveling Nuclear  Storm.  Genesis or Nascence literally means “New Beginning”…and it will be an event!

About the book

What is the book about?

Fireship Nascence is as deadly as she is beautiful. Fireship Nascence was born in the best shipyards in the world.  Scientists are in awe at her technology and speed. Ship Designers are amazed at her functionality and beauty.  But do not let her cargo fool you…

Fireship Nascence is a story that puts Savannah Georgia and Charleston South Carolina at the center of an event that could very well redefine who we are and bring about a new “normal”. Nascence literally means “New Beginning”…and it will be an event!

You will experience the excitement, action, intrigue and exhilaration of this patriotic mystery with just the right blend of thriller and suspense.

When did you start writing the book?

About three and a half years ago

How long did it take you to write it?

About two and a half years

Where did you get the idea from?

My experience, youth and encounters in my travel

Were there any parts of the book where you struggled?

The parts where I came close to military secrets and keeping technical terms and situations…simple but realistically fictional.

What came easily?

The Characters and their personalities

Are your characters entirely fictitious or have you borrowed from real world people you know?

Kinda…sort of J but mostly fictitious. Names and characters are carefully crafted to protect the innocent.

We all know how important it is for writers to read. Are there any particular authors that have influenced how you write and, if so, how have they influenced you?

I have always read a lot. As a kid I read comics, I could name the planets in order from the sun at a very young age…and tell you a little about each. I read all genres especially thrillers and adventure type “stuff”. Also I love works of the “Human Condition” No one author have influence my writing.

Do you have a target reader?

For those who like action, patriotic and war genres; you will love this great novel. Guys do not be surprised if you see this novel on your mother, wife, significant other or sister’s eBook for Kindle, NOOK, Sony eReader or Smartphone. Parents…it is ok. Fireship Nascence encourages reading among teens and young adults as well.

About Writing

Do you have a writing process? If so can you please describe it?

I just start writing. It seems I am at my best early in the morning.

Do you outline? If so, do you do so extensively or just chapter headings and a couple of sentences?

I never outline. It flows and I go back and edit.  If something does not flow…I cut and paste.

Do you edit as you go or wait until you’ve finished?

No..No…I edit as I go along.

Did you hire a professional editor? (May skip if being published by a small press rather than self-publishing)

I had friends who are good with the “Written Word” to review some of the chapters as they developed early on. My girlfriend did a great job with the final edits

Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what gets the fingers tapping?

Jazz or real mellow R&B… Bony James, Lou Rawls, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Womack

About Publishing

Did you submit your work to Agents?

Yes

What made you decide to go Indie, whether self-publishing or with an indie publisher? Was it a particular event or a gradual process?

Tate Publishing was my choice after numerous mindless submissions that required me to mail paper to them. When I did…I got automatic paper reject letters that took days to get. It seemed the literary process now benefits only the talking heads on TV that can get published in days.

I like the services of Tate Publishing and their process (I was not aware of your process…I may use for my second book)

Did you get your book cover professionally done or did you do it yourself?

Tate Publishing

Do you have a marketing plan for the book or are you just winging it?

Following Tate’s Marketing Publicist process. I am open to suggestions.

Any advice that you would like to give to other newbies considering becoming Indie authors?

Not really
