A graduate of Rutgers University, Denise L. Jenne has an undergraduate degree in Sociology and both a Masters and Doctorate in Criminal Justice. Although her career has taken her down several different paths, she taught for three decades at New Jersey state universities. She has several scholarly works in the field of Penology to her name.
Whether counseling adolescents in trouble with the law, teaching college students or working in some other capacity, young people of varying ages, backgrounds and lives have always been a prominent feature of the job.
Dr. Jenne is now putting two of her greatest passions — young people and writing — together in a new career. Annalise’s Up and Down Day is her first work of children’s fiction.
About the Book:
Annalise is three years old and ready for another summer day of fun, but, as her day progresses, she discovers that there are just as many misadventures as there are adventures in store for her. Through the vibrant watercolor paintings by Julie Iannone, Annalise’s Up and Down Day follows along with the toddler as she explores the meaning of “up” and “down” in her world.

“This is a very cute book. In the words of my four-year-old grandson, ‘This is a silly story. Read it again!’ It’s a quick read, so it will hold the little one’s attention, but filled with a lessons on what’s up and what’s down. Your child is sure to love it.” — Victoria Schwimly (Independent Author Network)
“The differences between up and down are more clearly identified when you’re a young child than to most adults. This little book gets you going on the right (or left) foot.” — Arlo Guthrie (Award-winning children’s book author, storyteller and folk singer)
